A Night Out in Gilgamesh

I've gotten several recommendations for restaurants in the area, so Saturday I decided to tap into my arsenal for a night out with my hunny and one of his law school buddies. We went to Gilgamesh for some cocktails and light bites. I absolutely loved it. The ambience is very cool, and the decor is grand. The bar is made of rich mahogany wood and hand carved with really intricate designs. The food was average, but the drinks were delicious. I had like 4ish house martinis with peach vodka, gin, peach and cucumber. Amazing. I can't wait to go back. I had such a wonderful time.

For the evening out, I pulled out my favorite hot pink blazer for a pop of color on my monochromatic outfit. When I can't find anything to wear I always fall on all black, but my pink blazer is definitely a great way to refresh the look. It's cooled down quite a bit, so I had to pull out tights for the first time in a while. I did my smokey eye again, since I'm obsessed with the look. Black pumps and a statement necklace completed my look.

I looove a good jumpsuit. I picked this one up at Off Fifth a while ago, and every time I wear it, I fall in love all over again. I wish it were a little longer so I could wear some killer heels with it, but a pointy toe flat does the job just fine. I love the wide legs and deep v-neck. It definitely makes wearing a one piece a little sexier. Have to look sexy for date night!!

My hunny and I had a nice little date night on Saturday. We went for some drinks at Adventure Bar in Covent Garden before heading to Apartment 58 to meet up with some friends. I had a really lovely time just spending some one on one time with my love. I didn't quite make it to the point where I was dancing with my eyes closed, but after a few long islands I was feeling pretty fearless!

House Party

I blogged about Apartment 58 a couple weeks ago when I first went there for drinks with a friend. I absolutely love this place and their fabulous events. Last Saturday, they had a "House Party" event where they took over the downstairs restaurant for a two level party. It was the first one they threw, but I thought it was very well done. The DJ was great and the crowd was lovely as usual. I couldn't find anything to wear, so I broke down (such a difficult decision let me tell you ;) and bought a new dress from Topshop. I chose a tan peplum minidress with cap sleeves. I love the simple chic look because it makes playing with accessories so much more fun. I wore my Stella & Dot Pegasus necklace, amrita singh bangles, and red Christian Louboutin peep toes to complete my look.

Also, I joined Apartment 58 this week! I can't wait to share many more posts about the events and people I meet through this really cool club!

I didn't get too creative - just LBD, blazer tights and pumps. I added a statement necklace and headed out the door! It's amazing how one piece of jewelry can change your whole look. I was chatting with my friend about it and she made the comment that if we switched jewelry we could change each other's whole outfit. Such a true statement. The necklace I chose definitely gave this fit a little more chic. What do you think?

Thursday night I met a friend for drinks at a members-only club called Apartment 58. It's a really cute little place with a great concept. Members can go in to work by day and party by night. Aside from the full bar, it is set up like an apartment. It has a very loungey feel to it. They have several members only events including linking up with clubs around the city for members to go to after a few drinks at the apartment. Last week they went to the W and I went along. I had a lovely time, and I now plan on joining the apartment!

It's worth mentioning I had a "celebrity" sighting: Mark Morrison. If you don't know him by name (I sure as hell didn't) he sang that song "return of the mack" like 100 years ago. He was sitting at a table at the W when we saw him. He still has groupies, but unfortunately they're the same ones from 20 years ago...they just got older. Yikes.

I spent last night partying it up at the W with some friends. It was an awesome night with great music and a laid back vibe. I drank way too much, but still dragged my ass to a cycling class this morning. Go me!

I was so excited to break out this DVF mini wrap dress I bought last year in Palm Springs. I love leopard print (clearly) and pink is my favorite color so this dress was basically begging me to take her home when I first spotted her. I love love love myself a wrap dress, but this one just pops. I paired it with beige Sam Edelman studded pumps to make it just a little more badass. I wore my Stella and Dot "sierra" necklace (obviously quickly becoming one of my faves) to complete the look. It's not really warm enough for bare legs, but after a few glasses of champagne I hardly noticed!

I did remember to take a few pictures of my accessories as requested, so here's a closeup of my tic toe rings from JewelMint and my little gold arm party!

Another Night, Another LBD

It's no secret that I hate going out clubbing when it's cold out. I hate having to choose between wearing tights and freezing my ass off. Last night, I decided tights weren't option, so freezing won out. I had no great outfit ideas, so I decided an LBD would have to do. I still had to deal with my hair issue, so I decided to wear a leopard silk scarf as a turban to add some fun to my LBD and cover my...situation.

Despite wearing a little black dress, my statement necklace and turban definitely made the outfit pop. Shopping my closet instead of running to the high street every time I have to go out is starting to be enjoyable for me. Everyday is a new challenge!

Last night's event was fabulous. The music ranged from  hip hop to funky house to reggae which meant tons of dancing and tons of fun. So far I'm impressed with the London club scene. Can't wait to get out again soon!

Vegas in London

I don't know too many people in London, so I'm always looking for ways to meet new people. This means stepping WAY out of my comfort zone and doing things like going to parties alone. Last night I guzzled a few glasses of liquid courage so I could do just that. I have to say it wasn't all that bad. The lady who invited me was so sweet, and introduced me to a ton of people who were more than happy to chat and include me in their fun.

Stuff got real awk

The party took place at Kings Club in Chelsea. It was a really cute club, but definitely tucked away. The taxi driver rode right past it when we first arrived. Being on the list is definitely a plus...no waiting in the cold (it was 30 last night) and no drama with the bouncers. Still, one of the most amazing things I find in the nightlife here is the amount of American music they play. It's almost like partying back in the states. Because there was a Vegas theme, they had a a small burlesque show which was actually quite good.

I was really excited to attend this event because it gave me an excuse to wear this gold metallic mini dress that I've had for a few years and worn twice. I tried to convince myself that it was fine to go bare legged in 30 degree weather, but decided against it. (I also consulted a few friends who quickly put me in check) I paired my mini with black opaque tights for warmth and went on my way.

I tried to hit some new poses, but I'm no model, so most of these came out ridiculous or at best...awkward. Whatevs.
