Trend I'm Loving: Studs and Spikes

All about studs

The studs and spikes trend is HUGE in London. I can barely walk out of my flat without seeing spikes on leather jackets, hats, jewelry, etc. I fell in love with the edgy trend the moment I saw it. I don't know that I'll be customizing all my wardrobe staples with studs at this point, but a couple pairs of pumps would be nice. I adore the Christian Louboutin Pigalle studded pumps, but for now I'll be hunting for the look for less. I've already found a few pairs that I'm loving. Fingers crossed I'll be posting about those finds soon!

Stay fab! xx

Wish lists: Miu Miu Glitter Loafers

Yesterday I tweeted about a pair of Miu Miu flats that I need to own or I will just die. It's no secret that I'm 5 years old in my head and nothing makes me as giddy as hot pink or loads of sparkles. I saw these shoes on display and literally had a moment as I held them in my hand. I may have to treat myself in a couple of weeks....

Two Tones and the Christian Louboutin Exhibit

The two toned Whistles blazer I've been lusting for is finally MINE! It was marked down in the sale, and they had one left in my size. I think it was fate. I know it was fate. Anyway, I finally pulled it out this weekend. I loves myself a structured blazer, but this one just made my heart sing. I love the color and the two toned lapels. I picked up this orange bag at T.K. Maxx, and everything just came together so wonderfully. Nothing like a little color block to brighten your day! I went to see the Christian Louboutin exhibit on Saturday afternoon since my hunny was working most of the day.

If you're in London and didn't get a chance to see the exhibit, you missed out. It was amazing. You got to see so many of Louboutin's fabulous designs, but you also got insight into his inspirations and his process. They also had a 3D hologram of Dita Von Teese doing a burlesque in sparkly Christian Louboutin pumps. My favorite section was the Fetish area where shoes were designed more as sculptures than as a wearable shoe. Two dancers from the Crazy Horse were chosen to model them in a shoot for the particular arch in their foot. The photos were provocative in nature, but really fabulous works of art. Unfortunately, I could only take pictures outside of the exhibit. The museum had a strict no photos policy which they enforced almost ridiculously. My phone was still in camera mode from taking photos outside when I walked in and one of the employees rolled up on me like a shoplifter to ask me to put my phone in my pocket. I made several unsuccessful attempts at taking pictures before eventually giving up. This is all I could get for you guys...

Don't mind if I do!

Style Inspirations: Shopping in Angel

I spent the day browsing shops and falling in love. Color blocking is huge this year, but I swear you can't walk into a single shop in London without being bombarded by color. Perhaps I'll be adding more color to my wardrobe for the spring and summer? I took a few pictures of some of the pieces I loved.

I found what is most likely to be the only pair of sneakers I would wear outside of the gym. The Ash sneakers have a hidden wedge in them which make them just chic enough for me to consider. Other highlights included a super sequined sweater from H&M and a cut little lace skirt. Nothing like a little window shopping to incite some style inspiration!

Blow the Whistles

Angel is a really cute little area that's just a short walk away from our flat.  Despite being here for a month now, I've only walked through to hit the gym which is right in the middle of that area. After brunch today I spent some time browsing the shops and finally made it into Whistles. OH MY GOD. Now all I want to do is shop at Whistles for the next 3 years.

Kanye West has a line in "Champion" - "when you see clothes, close your eyelids." I feel like I had one of those moments when I stepped into Whistles. I had blown off so many beautiful pieces all afternoon, but found myself almost in tears as I browsed the wonderfully crafted pieces. I snapped a few pictures of some pieces I will be going back for (hopefully). More than anything I need that pink blazer with the two toned lapels in my life. The blue tote would complement that beautifully. After all, nothing is bigger than color blocking this year! Now all I need to do is figure out how to justify a £195.00 jacket to my hunny...Suggestions???
