I love the versatility of the A line skirt. It can be taken easily from work to happy hour and beyond. I can barely walk a few blocks without seeing the A line in shop windows and lining magazine pages. It's fairly easy to style for any occasion since the options are endless.
For nights out, play with textures and color to keep it flirty. Pair it with a plain tee or tank and sky high heels to complete the look. Sequins are fun, but if you're feeling adventurous, go for feathers. You'll make a huge statement without looking like you're trying to hard. Loads of jewelry and an oversized envelope clutch would look perfect for an evening out with the girls.
The weekend is more about a casual but chic look for errands, brunches and other day time activities. Rock the monochrome look with a chic striped sweater and bright patent flats for a pop of color. A large clutch or crossbody bag and casual jewelry complement the casual look and make it easy to carry all your weekend essentials.
Some of us have to work for a living, but that doesn't mean you can't wear an A line skirt for a chic, business casual look. After working in corporate America for a few years, I found that lots of women sacrificed style for the sake of being taken seriously by male colleagues. You really don't need to do that. Pair a knee length A line skirt in a muted color with a pussybow blouse and pumps for a stylish, business casual look. All you need is a blazer to make it business formal. A great leather tote rounds everything out.
The one thing to remember with the A line skirt is proportions. Keep your tops fitted as to not make yourself look wider. Shorter lengths are great for the weekend and nights out, but keep it tasteful for work functions!
So what do we think? Would you rock the look?
Stay fab! xx
